About The Position

This position will serve as an Engineering Technician I in the Youngsville Resident Engineer’s Office providing technical work supporting higher level technicians or engineers in construction inspection on roadway projects which may include surveying, materials sampling, testing, erosion control, and construction traffic control. This position requires the performance of a wide variety of standardized and non-standardized tests and assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data for daily reports. This work involves limited decision making and use of judgment. Employee in this position will perform a full range of calculations and computations.

Requirements

Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle
Associate’s degree in an applicable area of Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge and skill in the use of computer equipment, iPad and software
Knowledge and understanding of general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction, construction inspection, and /or construction surveying
Knowledge of standards and specifications and plan reading experience
Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments
