About The Position

The Engineering Technician I supports the development and/or introduction of new processes and equipment. Assists with continuous improvement projects and quality investigations. Executes engineering studies and equipment qualifications. Performs administrative tasks within engineering department. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with at least one (1) year of relevant previous technician experience in a development/manufacturing or scientific environment.
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or technology or the equivalent in vocational training and zero (0) years of experience required.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Teams.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Identifies complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and coordinate multiple activities with a wide variety of disciplines within the company; open to others’ ideas; able to contribute to the team decision.
  • Engineering & Technology: Knowledge of practical application of engineering principles to develop process and equipment solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks thoroughly and with care; checks work to ensure high degree of accuracy/completeness and early/on-time delivery.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate conclusions and recommended path; able to present complex information to peers and non-technical leadership; able to describe and convince decision makers on recommended path; able to deliver a formal presentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of experience in tissue/regulated processing within a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment.

Responsibilities

  • Executes technical protocols for feasibility studies, process characterization activities and/or process improvement activities.
  • Execute protocols for Equipment Qualification/Requalification (IOQ) and Process Validation (OQ, PQ) in accordance with cGMP and GDP standards.
  • Performs technical functions in support of engineering activities for product and process development such as design, setup and implementation of production equipment and processes as well as setup and operation for engineering equipment.
  • Coordinates activities across departments.
  • Revises Design and Development Documentation or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) working under guidance of engineer.
  • Process associated Change Order and training activities in accordance with LNH SOPs and systems.
  • Supports both equipment and process related nonconformance investigations (NCIs) or customer complaint investigations and associated activities such as compiling data to support investigation, executing studies to confirm root cause, implementing corrective actions, and monitoring improvements.
  • Author Quality System documentation to support engineering functions including purchase requisition forms, equipment onboarding forms, calibration forms, preventive maintenance forms, and engineering change orders.
  • Collaborates with other LNH departments to support engineering needs as determined appropriate.
