About The Position

Eaton's IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking an Engineering Technician - Heat Treat to join our Kings Mountain team. The range for this position is $30.12 starting - $36.38 at 12 months per hour with scheduled pay increases at 6 months and 1 year of service. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years minimum of Heat Treat Experience.
  • Willing to work any shift as required to support operations, however primary shift will be 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, improve and maintain processes, including: Assisting maintenance in troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, Analysis of root cause and failure analysis, Scrap reduction
  • Part Processing (Implement Engineering Change Notice’s and Process Change Requests): Heat Treat process improvements, Create and revise process documentation
  • Support plant Metallurgist to learn processes for cutting and analyzing parts to become additional support for metallurgical needs.
  • Participate in and implement programs/projects that support the business plan of plant management.
  • Active member of a cross functional teams to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a constant search for identifiable and measurable cost reductions through scrap analysis and technology applications.
  • Participate in capital planning, implement equipment, completing documentation, and completing machine runoffs.
  • Participate in Lean activities
  • Assist in new product launch.
  • Assist in meeting all plant Environmental Health and Safety objectives.
  • Assist in technical training.
  • Able to flex to different shift as needed to support operations
