About The Position

Woolpert is hiring an Engineering Technician (Field/Civil Engineering) to join their dynamic Site Civil Team. This position will report to the Engineering Team Leader and will support hybrid or in office in their Fairview Heights, IL/St. Louis Metro office. The company is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position, and applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or technical certification from a technical school or four (4) years related experience.
  • Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Valid Driver’s License – Clean driving record.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, appropriately prioritize workflow, and complete tasks.
  • Must be mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.
  • Must have above average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Must be able to read, write and interpret reports, business correspondence and procedural documentation.
  • Must be able to apply mathematical concepts of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations (fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions) and apply to practical situations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create site layout plans in alignment with client requirements and Woolpert standards.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop concept plans, grading plans, and site designs.
  • Work with project management teams to identify impediments and develop/implement solutions to overcome obstacles.
  • Perform site due diligence assessments and compile data and reports.
  • Perform roadway pavement evaluations and compile reports.
  • Perform occasional field work, frequent local travel, and overnight travel, as needed.
