About The Position

Superior Glove is seeking a motivated co-op student currently enrolled in their 3rd or 4th year of a Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related post-secondary program. This role offers hands-on experience supporting manufacturing automation, electrical controls, machine commissioning, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The student will work alongside experienced Engineering and Maintenance teams in a fast-paced production environment, contributing to the company's long-standing commitment to improving occupational hand protection through innovation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related post-secondary program.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical controls and electrical panel design.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming; Siemens experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and control drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar software is an asset.
  • Manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Siemens experience is an asset.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar software is an asset.
  • Manufacturing experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with electrical control panel design and panel layout.
  • Support power and control wiring for production machinery and automation equipment.
  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs (Siemens experience is an asset).
  • Assist with machine commissioning, testing, and validation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, control, and PLC-related issues on manufacturing equipment.
  • Prepare and update electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Perform hands-on electrical panel wiring and installation activities.
  • Assist with pneumatic system troubleshooting and basic circuit modifications.
  • Support preventive maintenance and continuous improvement projects.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
