About The Position

This role supports Space Vehicle satellite manufacturing. The individual contributor will work with limited supervision, following engineering drawings and defined manufacturing processes. The position requires navigating and working with paperless work instructions (MES) and offers flexibility for overtime, nights, weekends, and alternate shifts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Support of Space Vehicle satellite manufacturing.
  • Individual contributor responsibilities with limited supervision.
  • Following engineering drawings and defined manufacturing processes.
  • Navigating and working to paperless work instructions (MES).
  • Flexibility to work overtime/nights/weekends and alternate shifts.
  • Cable and harness installation, routing and cable management.
  • Mechanical assembly and test of hardware including ESD sensitive hardware.
  • Hardware integration.
  • Rigging/overhead crane operation.
  • Preparation for and conducting system level hardware testing.
  • Performing system level alignments to meet system requirements.
  • Field support for launch vehicle integration.
  • Ability to move equipment weighing 45 pounds or less.
  • Manual dexterity, motor skills and situational awareness to handle and manufacture space hardware.
  • Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using torque driver and power supply.
  • Experience with small hand tools.
  • Experience in mixing and applying adhesives.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment.
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
  • Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
  • Prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
  • Conducts production floor work, including some bench work and moving between buildings using test systems.
  • Uses overhead rigging.
