About The Position

This role supports technical and administrative project activities by compiling information, performing calculations, and preparing reports, studies, and related documentation. It involves creating or assisting with test orders, work orders, charts, diagrams, and other project materials while maintaining accurate records such as schedules, equipment data, and status reports. The position also coordinates with manufacturers, vendors, and contractors to gather information and expedite materials, assembles specifications for quotations, and prepares data for computer processing. Field visits and other routine duties are performed as needed to support ongoing operations.

Requirements

  • Two years college including Engineering, Math, Physics, Chemistry and Drafting.
  • Applicants who have completed a minimum of one (1) year of prescribed courses in Engineering and are presently continuing in a prescribed course of study leading to a two-year Certificate of Engineering studies as required by recognized local colleges.
  • Applicants will be required to evidence satisfactory completion of these courses and must have a C average in their major courses.
  • Applicants must submit a copy of their transcript with the application.
  • Must be a citizen or national of the USA; OR a lawful permanent resident of the United States (Non-Conditional Permanent I-551 / Green Card / Permanent Resident Card holder); OR a citizen, national, or permanent resident of a “Generally Authorized” destination on the attached list and not also a citizen, national, permanent resident of any country not listed; OR a “Protected Individual” under the Immigration and Naturalization Act (8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3)).

Nice To Haves

  • Incumbents who demonstrate satisfactory performance for one (1) year in this classification and have completed the required studies as specified will be eligible for promotion to the classification of Technical Assistant A-8.

Responsibilities

  • Compile information, make calculations and use in the preparation of reports, studies, research projects, etc.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of test orders, work orders, charts, graphs, diagrams and other related material as required.
  • Maintain records such as schedules, status reports, data on equipment, etc.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of routine letters, forms, bill of materials, or sketches.
  • Contact manufacturers, vendors, contractors, as required, to obtain information, expedite receipt of drawings or material.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of data for processing by computer.
  • Assemble required specifications and drawings for use in obtaining quotations for equipment and contracted work.
  • Make field trips as directed.
  • May be required to obtain routine data from field.
  • Perform other routine duties as required.
