About The Position

This role involves researching and compiling information from various sources, making calculations, and preparing technical studies, research projects, and reports. The position is responsible for the preparation and interpretation of statistical and graphical exhibits, as well as managing computer input and processing. Reviewing computer-generated output for required information and recommending revisions are key duties. Additionally, the role requires the preparation and maintenance of various records such as schedules, projects, drawing-status lists, and data-on-equipment. The incumbent may also be required to utilize other personal-computer programs.

Requirements

  • Two years of college education required for Engineering Technical Assistant Grade-6 and Grade-7.
  • Consideration will be given to applicants for the Grade-6 position who have completed one (1) year of college and are presently attending school.
  • To be promoted to the Grade-7 position, the incumbent must have completed two (2) years of schooling.
  • Specific course requirements include engineering, math, physics, chemistry, and drafting.
  • Applicants must evidence satisfactory completion of courses with a C average in major courses.
  • Valid Driver’s License required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.
  • Must pass Field Assessment.
  • Must have the ability to work without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including FMCSA and PHMSA.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrate satisfactory performance for one (1) year in the department and complete the required studies to be promoted to Grade-7 classification.
