About The Position

In the Global Products Group, we are dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering of Lam's etch and deposition products. We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry. Your primary responsibility will be to process samples using FEI/Thermo Fisher Helios SEM tools. Sample types will include top‑down and cross‑sectional SEM imaging. Additional responsibilities include imaging AutoTEM‑prepared lamellae using the installed STEM detector on the SEM tool.

Requirements

4+ years of experience with a BS degree in a physical science, or a specialized AS degree, or equivalent professional training in materials science and analytical techniques.
Experience operating single‑beam SEM tools, with a particular focus on the preparation of cleaved cross‑sections for XSEM imaging.
Knowledge of the physics involved in SEM tools, such as vacuum systems, voltage/current effects, and methods for mitigating charging issues.
Comfortable working a night‑shift compressed schedule.

Nice To Haves

Sample preparation experience using precision cleaving tools is a plus.
Familiarity with key developments and materials in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
Experience creating and presenting technical documentation.
Experience in customer IP protection and proper sample handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

Follow laboratory methodology for TDSEM/XSEM sample preparation in accordance with quality standards.
Optimize personal workflows to ensure efficient sample throughput.
Communicate with lab management to provide work completion time estimates.
Provide feedback to lab management to support continuous improvement opportunities in laboratory workflows.
Communicate with team members to ensure alignment on methodologies.
Protect customer materials and intellectual property at all times.
