About The Position

The SEM Lab in Tualatin is committed to providing best-in-class microscopy services to support Lam’s engineering and development efforts. Through technical development and continuous improvement we solve difficult analysis problems and leverage efficiencies to increase our throughput and reduce our time to data.

Requirements

  • BS degree in a physical science, or a specialized AS degree or equivalent professional training on materials science and analytical techniques.
  • Experience operating single beam SEM tools, with particular focus in the preparation of cleaved cross-sections for XSEM imaging.
  • Ability to work a Compressed, Back-End of Week Day Shift Schedule. (Thu - Sat, rotating Wed)

Nice To Haves

  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Sample prep experience in precision cleaving tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the physics involved with SEM tools, such as vacuum systems, voltage/current effects, and ways to work around charging issues.
  • Familiarity with key developments and materials in the semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • Experience creating and presenting technical documentation.
  • Experience in customer IP protection and sample handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process samples using FEI/Thermo Fisher Helios SEM tools.
  • Perform top-down imaging and cross-sectional SEM imaging.
  • Image AutoTEM prepped lamella using installed STEM detector on SEM Tool.
  • Follow lab methodology for TDSEM/XSEM sample preparation consistent with quality standards.
  • Optimize personal workflow for efficient throughput of samples.
  • Communicate with lab management to provide work completion time estimates.
  • Provide feedback to lab management for continuous improvement opportunities in lab workflows.
  • Communicate with team members to ensure alignment on methodologies.
  • Protecting customer material and IP at all times.
