About The Position

The Engineering Technician 3 provides technical support to engineers across a variety of technical tasks. The role gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, including laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. It produces engineering documentation, reports, and drawings such as flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics. The technician performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas, conducts preliminary data analyses when guidelines are provided, and makes quantitative judgments concerning technical data. The role uses a personal computer to perform analyses and develop documentation and reports, and may conduct tests and record data to support engineering evaluation or analysis. This position is with Newport News Shipbuilding's Quality & Planning team. It is full-time, has multiple shifts, is not eligible for telework, requires U.S. citizenship, and does not require clearance to start. Travel is not required, and relocation assistance is unavailable.

Requirements

Associate's degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
U.S. citizenship is required.

Conduct preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided, including areas such as trajectory adequacy and model dimensional consistency.
Make quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
Use a personal computer to perform analyses and develop documentation and reports.
May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
