Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. The selected candidate will work as an Engineering Technician on the Integration & Test (I&T) of Northrop Grumman Spacecraft. This role involves performing a variety of duties assisting engineers in mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, fabrication, testing, modification, and assembly of spacecraft and support equipment. The candidate will be required to perform the following tasks: Draft and interpret detailed drawings for fabrication. Fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic components or assemblies. Set up and conduct prototype unit and subsystem tests under operational conditions. Analyze test data, identify issues, and recommend modifications. Support critical space flight hardware integration with high attention to detail and safety. Maintain clean room protocols, hazardous material handling, and operational procedures. Work flexible schedules, including off shifts, weekends, overtime, there are some opportunities where a willingness to travel for launch campaigns (up to 25% domestic travel) may be available. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently. This role requires adaptability, precision, and a commitment to mission success.

Requirements

High School Diploma (or technical training equivalent) and 2 years of related experience as a Mechanical or Manufacturing Technician, or equivalent.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret Clearance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
Hands-on experience with aerospace equipment, harness build, and soldering.
Knowledge of electrical measurements (AC/DC, resistance), voltage circuitry, and troubleshooting techniques.
Understanding of clean room operations and spacecraft handling protocols.
Ability to lift and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks such as sanding or scrubbing over long periods of time.
Must be able to work flexible shifts, including 2nd and 3rd shift schedules, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Active or current DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI or SAP/SAR access.
A&P License.
Flight hardware integration and spacecraft processing experience.
Certifications in flight wire harnessing, flight soldering, and epoxy bonding.
Experience with MLI (Thermal Blanket) installation.
Familiarity with EGSE processes, test procedures, and troubleshooting support equipment.
Aerospace/Satellite Integration & Test experience.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical assembly, wire harnessing, and soldering.
Apply epoxy bonding and polymeric applications for spaceflight hardware.
Utilize precision torque techniques for fastener installations.
Maintain work areas in compliance with ESD, FOD, and 5S standards.
Perform calibration and preventative maintenance of electronic equipment.
Support discrepancy documentation and resolution.
Utilize software tools such as Solumina MES, TipQA, Windchill, and CREO View.
Lead test configuration setups.
Set up, troubleshoot, and repair Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), including test racks and desktop equipment.
Assist in cable design and test configuration development.
Navigate and execute test scripts in Maestro and AstroRT environments.
Verify completion of testing events and associated documentation.
Support critical/hazardous operations as needed.
