About The Position

We are seeking Engineering Students for our Ottawa District, within our Canadian Buildings Division, that are available for 4 months from September 2026 – December 2026. As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth.

Requirements

• Working towards a degree or diploma in a civil engineering related field
• A passion for working in a construction environment.
• Experience with the application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
• Self-motivation with a hands-on approach.

Nice To Haves

• Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conducts deficiency walks.
• Coordinates and supervises sub-trade work.
• Coordinates quality assurance reviews.
• Takes and coordinates progress photos.
• Tracks site progress and deficiencies.
• Verifies site conditions and coordinates with drawings.
• Coordinates, marks up and updates drawings.
• Coordinates work specific scope and trades.
• Conducts trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours, and rates.
• Inputs and updates deficiency logs.
• Participates in project meetings.
• Performs quantity take-offs.
• Produces as-built drawings.
• Sets-up and maintains record keeping.

Benefits

• The estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37 – $31.33 based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
