About The Position

Join us in the exciting, innovative and rewarding environment of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) as an Engineering Technical Associate! We are seeking a motivated individual to perform capital construction project management duties. Desired candidates will have a working background in the construction industry coupled with strong organizational management. Job duties include statewide travel with limited overnight stays required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree whose curriculum is approved by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors.
  • Four years of engineering related experience.
  • Certification as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) that is recognized by the Kentucky Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Four years of engineering and/or construction related experience will substitute for the required bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital construction projects as an owner’s project manager, from planning and design through execution and closeout.
  • Oversee the maintenance of facilities and infrastructure statewide.
  • Respond to internal staff requests for facility and infrastructure upgrades by providing technical expertise, performing hands-on work, and managing contracted services.
  • Assist internal staff on projects that enhance public access to hunting, fishing, shooting sports, and boating opportunities statewide.
  • Coordinate and participate in special engineering, construction projects and events for KDFWR as directed.
