About The Position

Clarium is scaling its AI-powered platform, Astra OS, across leading health systems to address inefficiencies in the healthcare supply chain. The company is seeking an Engineering Tech Lead to enhance architecture, code quality, and technical execution. This role involves driving system design, setting engineering standards, and mentoring teammates through hands-on contribution and technical guidance, without formal management responsibilities. The Tech Lead will partner with engineering and product leadership to align technical decisions with both the immediate roadmap and the long-term health of the codebase. This position is ideal for an individual who desires significant technical scope and influence, leading by example and solving complex engineering challenges.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including experience leading technical direction on a team
• Deep hands-on experience with our core stack: Python, React, and TypeScript, including shipping production code
• A track record of making sound architecture and system design decisions in a fast-moving environment
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar of a team through example and code review
• Strong collaborator who can align technical decisions with product and business goals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical tradeoffs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

• Experience in healthcare, supply chain, or another complex regulated domain
• Experience scaling systems or engineering practices in an early-stage startup environment

Responsibilities

• Drive system design, architecture, and technical direction for your team's projects
• Write production code and set the technical bar through hands-on contribution, not just review
• Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and technical guidance — without formal management responsibility
• Partner with Product to translate roadmap priorities into sound technical plans
• Identify and resolve technical risk, tech debt, and cross-team dependencies before they become blockers
• Establish and evolve engineering best practices, standards, and tooling across the team
