A Day in the Life As an Engineering Technician III supporting Extrusion operations, you’ll play a key role in advancing the manufacturing of high-quality, life-changing medical devices. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to work closely with engineering and operations teams to drive performance, quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, regulated environment. In this role, you will provide technical expertise to support and optimize extrusion processes and equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with extrusion processes (medical tubing, polymers, or similar applications).
  • Familiarity with process controls, temperature profiles, and material flow systems.
  • Experience working with fixtures; assembling and disassembling of tooling.
  • Proficient in tooling GD&T and spare parts inventory management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical systems.
  • Experience in a GMP-regulated environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, etc.).
  • Knowledge of automation and controls such as PLCs, sensors and actuators.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
  • 5S and Lean Manufacturing Skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Progressive technical certifications.
  • Clear understanding of EHS requirements.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineering teams to improve cycle time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety, and compliance within extrusion manufacturing
  • Monitor and maintain extrusion equipment and process instrumentation, including calibration, inspection, testing, and repair activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and process deviations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintain and enhance process designs and workflows to optimize equipment performance and facility utilization
  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
