About The Position
As an Engineering Tech at MKS, you will partner with internal engineering teams to design, develop, build, test, and validate prototype engineering assemblies and custom test fixtures. You will report to the Manager of Test Engineering. The role supports mechanical and electrical prototyping and assembly, as well as the preparation and debugging of tooling and fixtures used in manufacturing high-precision optics and optical assemblies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and bills of materials.
- Analytical mindset.
- Ability to generate creative solutions.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to complete daily tasks with minimal oversight.
- Ability to identify and fix problems quickly.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree or equivalent technician experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support ad hoc assembly of mechanical and electrical prototypes and assemblies.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver robust, repeatable fixturing and tooling for manufacturing high-precision optics and optical assemblies.
- Prepare and debug mechanical and electrical assemblies for tooling and fixturing to facilitate manufacturing.
- Follow written procedures or engineering drawings and suggest improvements.
- Solder components, including PCBAs.
- Create wire harnesses.
