About The Position

As an Engineering Technician 4 at MKS Instruments, you will partner with Systems and Design Engineering to test and troubleshoot the next generation of RF Plasma generators. In this role, you will report to one of the Systems Engineering Managers.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent technician experience
• Minimum of 4+ years of related experience
• Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other electrical / RF instruments
• Experience using schematics to troubleshoot PCBA problems

Nice To Haves

• Use of computers to drive tests or collect data
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Use of LTSpice or other circuit simulation tools
• PCBA soldering / rework

Responsibilities

• Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot new RF generator designs
• Test and troubleshoot new PCBAs to validate performance
• Conduct failure analysis on returned units, determine what is failed and make observations or measurements to identify root cause
• Build test setups for specialized experiments
• Occasionally support customers in the field
