The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of technicians in the optimization of manufacturing equipment for the Crescent, Nautilus, BMLS, and Opus product lines. This role ensures that production operations consistently meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives through equipment assembly, qualification, maintenance and repair. As an contributor, this role will work on projects and tasks to enhance and improve manufacturing processes and equipment while managing a team focused on maximizing uptime, insuring safety, and reducing cost. Reporting into the Engineering Sr. Manager at Dexter, you will collaborate cross-functionally with inter-departmental teams of Engineers, Designers, Machinists and site teams such as Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Released Product Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to maintain robust, reliable, and scalable manufacturing systems.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and minimum of 1 year relevant experience.

  • Experience in medical manufacturing under FDA/GMP conditions in a manufacturing environment, preferably medical devices.
  • Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Excellent personal, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with business software and network applications.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and standards governing medical device manufacturing.
  • Ability to lead DMAIC A3 problem solving processes.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device producing equipment, fixtures and processes.
  • May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.
  • Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.
  • Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.
  • Directs the development of new equipment or processes from initial concept through validation.
  • Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.
  • Monitors documentation of preventative maintenance throughout all phases of equipment life.
  • Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Manages the team performance with measurable metrics, skill and professional growth opportunities, and career development.
