About The Position

On the Kennedy Propellants and Life Support Services (KPLSS II) program on Kennedy Space Center FL, this position leads and supervises a team of system maintenance engineers. This role will be responsible for the upkeep, performance, and reliability of engineering systems and associated operations with a focus on the Propellants South and Life Support areas of the program. The role ensures that all operational and maintenance activities meet technical, safety, and quality standards while supporting organizational objectives and project timelines within KPLSS II, NASA, Space Force, and partner contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related scientific field and at least 5 years of job-related experience, or equivalent.
  • Good communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
  • US citizenship is required for restricted area access.
  • A driver's license is required to independently travel onto and around KSC property.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate system maintenance engineers, providing clear workload planning, task assignments, schedule management, and technical oversight to ensure delivery of high‑quality, compliant engineering work.
  • Conduct team meetings, support employee development through coaching and training, participate in hiring and performance appraisals, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage Ground Support Pneumatics Console launch support activities, including operator scheduling, coordination, training, and mentoring for launch operations.
  • Oversee preparation and review of Operations and Maintenance documentation, supporting cost evaluations, technical specifications, safety analyses, and operator training for propellant systems and equipment.
  • Lead and govern the contract’s Process Safety Management (PSM) program, ensuring compliance with KPLSS II, NASA/KSC, and Range Safety requirements for all hypergolic operations.
  • Partner with Propellants Engineering to maintain PSM documentation, lead PHAs and revalidations, oversee Pre-start up Safety Reviews, Management of Change processes, and ensure procedures, Process Safety Information, and safety documentation remain current and compliant.
  • Manage System Maintenance Engineer readiness through oversight of required training, certifications, procedural accuracy, and adherence to Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices and site safety standards.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned or requested.
