About The Position

AQR Capital Management is seeking innovative and passionate undergraduates to join their engineering teams as summer analysts for a 10-week program. This program offers real work experience, insights from the Quanta Academy Summer Term curriculum, and exposure to global, systematic investing. Learning is central to AQR's culture, with opportunities for collaboration, workshops, classes, and project work that impacts clients. The AQR Quanta Academy: Summer Term learning series provides over 40 hours of educational, skill-building, and networking events.

Requirements

  • Finishing either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program between December 2027 and June 2028
  • Mature and thoughtful, with the ability to operate within a collaborative, team-oriented culture
  • Hard working and eager to learn in a highly intellectual, innovative environment
  • Ability to look beyond the surface level to understand the underlying details

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement projects to support critical business functions for Client Admin and Business Development teams.
  • Research, design, code, test, and deploy projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Implement new ideas through creative use of technology, working alongside development teams.
  • Design and development of foundational software infrastructure utilized by applications throughout AQR.
  • Work on multiple different systems including Firmwide Data Platform, Data services for multiple business areas, PNL, valuations and securities systems, External Market Data, and Internal Reference Data.
  • Build and maintain common development tools and libraries.
  • Collaborate with other teams to help them re-architect their applications and modernize their tech stack.
  • Ensure services are highly robust, performant, and scalable.
  • Design and implement AQR’s proprietary systems throughout all areas of the firm.
  • Model complex data structures, patterns, and relationships.
  • Perform data analysis using NoSQL technologies.
  • Design user interfaces and data visualizations.
  • Work with cloud architecture and messaging infrastructure.
  • Contribute to open-source software.
