About The Position

PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. is seeking Engineering Students for its Canadian Buildings Division in the BC Region. Students must be available for a 4–12 month placement starting in January 2027. The position is based in Richmond, British Columbia, and reports directly to the Project Manager. The role provides hands-on experience on construction projects, including coordination of drawings and trades, project documentation, schedule updates, quantity takeoffs, and monitoring workforce productivity. Students may use software such as Primavera P6 EPPM and AutoCAD. Candidates should have a strong desire to work in construction; prior field construction experience is an asset.

Requirements

Strong desire to work in a construction environment.
Application of computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.

Responsibilities

Coordinate drawings and work-specific scopes with trades and subcontractors.
Review trade quotes by verifying material quantities, hours, and rates.
Participate in project meetings.
Complete deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.
Issue warranties.
Take or coordinate progress photos.
Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
Perform quantity takeoffs.
Verify site conditions and coordinate drawings.
Set up and maintain records.
Update project schedules and create manual schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software.
Create and maintain graphical schedules using AutoCAD.
Monitor workforce productivity.
