Engineering Student - Python Test Data Processing - Fall 2026
About The Position
MDA Space is seeking a motivated and talented Engineering Student for their EGSE and Test Data Processing department. This is a 4-month mandate, with a possibility of extending to 8 months, starting in September 2026. The role is designed for individuals at a level similar to new graduates, with tasks assigned based on schooling and experience. The intern will develop test data processing software using Python in a Windows environment for the automation of satellite electronic equipment testing. This involves understanding hardware measurements from equipment like network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 sessions completed of an Engineering degree and interest in the field of electronics testing and integration.
- Software development Experience in Python.
- Ability to work with an existing code base/framework.
- Knowledge of electronics and associated test equipment.
- Experience working with Excel.
- Demonstrated academic performance (good general average).
- Good verbal and written communication skills ideally both in English and French (Contact with customers outside Quebec).
Nice To Haves
- Experience in radiofrequency (RF) measurement is an asset.
- Experience in electronics lab with test equipment is an asset.
- The ideal candidate would be a multidisciplinary, pro-active, enthusiastic, and result-oriented team player.
Responsibilities
- Create/Modify data processing scripts that automate pass/fail criteria and report generation on complex satellite payloads.
- Develop and integrate test data automation solutions to support high volume production of flight hardware.
- Design, code, test, debug and document high-quality software.
- Participate in integration, testing and deployment of test data processing.
- Assist in troubleshooting problems in a software production environment.
- Prepare required documentation.
