About The Position

Ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and testing of emergency generators and elevators on campus. Oversee locating services for the Geographic Information System (GIS), GPS system, and data acquisition for the Facilities Services Department. Perform data entry functions related to the mapping of campus-wide facility utilities as needed. Perform the location of underground utilities related to the construction and renovation of facility utilities. Perform work in the area of machinery and assist with construction, maintenance, and repair of university facilities and equipment as assigned. Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

High School diploma or HSE required.
Three years of progressively responsible experience in at least one of the following areas: - Experience in the repair and/or maintenance of elevators and/or emergency generators.
Construction and/or manufacturing-related work with responsibility to read and interpret project plans or blueprints.
Using electronic locating devices and or personal computer utilizing specialized software for GIS databases.
Experience in the basics of electrical, mechanical, utility operation, construction, and/or underground utility locates.
Valid Tennessee driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

Specialized software programs and applications to produce maps in the campus' ArcGIS (Geographic Information System) and GPS (Global Positioning System) software.
Three years progressively responsible experience as a skilled trades person or maintenance technician.
Experience using GIS / GPS tracking software
Experience in the repair and maintenance of elevators and/or emergency generators.
