About The Position

SynQor seeks an experienced and certified SMT and THT Rework Operator who is an expert in the removal and placement of fine pitch SMT IC’s, 0402 and larger discrete components as well as Through Hole Technology and THT sub-assembly removal and replacement to IPC-A-610 class 3 quality standards. This role is different from a standard rework operator because this technician is considered a member of the manufacturing support electrical engineering team. As opposed to only working on the manufacturing line, this position focuses on supporting engineers with their work and experiments. This position provides the opportunity to continue a career in the electronics manufacturing industry, and to transition from a standard rework operator to a technician that works with the electrical engineering team. Requirements

  • High school diploma/ GED
  • 3+ years as a rework operator at an electronics manufacturing facility
  • Ability to use a microscope
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to use a computer
  • Attention to detail
  • Dependable work

Nice To Haves

  • Certified SMT and THT Rework Operator
  • IPC standards and specifications desired
  • Familiarity with IPC A-610 (Workmanship), and IPC-7711 (Rework); Certification to these Standards
  • Experience with Metcal soldering equipment
  • Very good eyesight
  • Interpreting engineering documentation

Responsibilities

  • Removal and placement of fine pitch SMT IC’s
  • Removal and placement of 0402 and larger discrete components
  • Through Hole Technology and THT sub-assembly removal and replacement to IPC-A-610 class 3 quality standards
  • Supporting engineers with their work and experiments
  • Soldering small bottom terminated components
  • Soldering on heavy copper printed circuit boards
  • Soldering through hole components
  • Soldering using flux, paste, and reflow oven
  • Soldering jumper wires on boards for engineers
  • Reading bill of materials
  • Locating components in the storage area
  • Taking directions from engineers
