About The Position

What You’ll Experience: Lead and manage development efforts for advanced combat systems. Oversee project progress, manage schedules, and ensure budgets and goals are met while delivering regular status reports. Mentor and manage a team of developers, conducting performance reviews, workload planning, and scheduling. Actively uncover risks—technical and organizational—and ensure they are addressed with effective mitigation plans. Drive continuous improvement across teams and processes in a mission-critical environment.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Strong technical knowledge in software development for combat systems or SWFTS subsurface environments.
  • Proven experience in leadership and people management, including managing direct reports, conducting interviews, mentoring, and fostering team growth.
  • Project management expertise, including resource planning, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C++, Java, or Python, with a focus on real-time or embedded systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on achieving client satisfaction and quality outcomes.

  • Hands-on experience with submarine combat systems or SWFTS-related projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to align technical excellence with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Expertise in system architecture, software configuration, and integration, with knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor project progress and intervene when necessary to address challenges with project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical input to link task-related strategies to business goals and objectives.
  • Assign tasks, review employee work, and participate in hiring, performance appraisals, and team development.
  • Manage personnel by mentoring, coaching, and fostering growth, ensuring team members are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead small projects or strategic tasks, ensuring alignment with technical and organizational goals.
  • Develop proposal content, project estimates, and strategies for achieving program objectives.
