About The Position

Join Apple’s Information Systems and Technology group and its AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) organization, which builds Apple’s enterprise Generative AI and Data platforms. AiDP combines data, application development, machine learning, data services, and customer success to help IS&T build solutions more efficiently and embed generative AI across Apple. This role is suited to someone early in their program management career who is fluent with AI tools and interested in shaping the future of program management. The Engineering Program Manager will work with engineering teams to define evaluation criteria for AI systems, track quality and regression signals as measures of program health, and make release decisions amid uncertainty and varied use cases. The role is expected to use AI agents and assistants in day-to-day work, including drafting status updates, synthesizing meeting notes, building lightweight tools, and automating reporting. Success is measured by outcomes delivered rather than coordination hours. The program also includes tracking platform adoption, engagement, retention, and business impact, then feeding those findings into the roadmap. The EPM will help ship AI platforms to tens of thousands of Apple employees and use the agentic tools being delivered.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of industry experience in an engineering, technical product, or technical program role.
  • At least 1 year managing AI programs or projects across multiple teams toward a shared objective.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools in personal work to automate analysis, draft, prototype, or build something used in practice; candidates should be ready to show what they built.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to AI/ML or data platform programs, such as model deployment, evaluations, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic systems, or data pipelines.
  • Working understanding of how AI systems differ from deterministic software, including non-determinism, evaluation, and quality when there is no single correct output.
  • Comfort with ambiguity in a fast-moving, high-visibility environment, exercised with discretion and integrity.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, including the ability to summarize a complex program for executives and discuss it in detail with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering to define evaluation criteria for AI systems.
  • Track quality and regression signals as program health metrics.
  • Make release decisions amid uncertainty about AI system behavior and use cases.
  • Use AI agents and assistants to draft status updates, synthesize meeting notes, build lightweight tooling, and automate reporting.
  • Track platform usage, adoption, engagement, retention, and business impact.
  • Feed usage and business-impact findings back into the roadmap.
  • Help deliver AI platforms to Apple employees.
