Engineering Program Manager,

AppleSunnyvale, CA

About The Position

The Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team is looking for a versatile Product Owner and Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to help build and scale reusable core platform components. In this role, you'll be the linchpin between business strategy and engineering execution — acting as the primary product owner to define the vision, stepping in as an EPM to drive execution, and leveraging strong systems-analysis skills to map complex cross-functional integrations. As a Product Owner / EPM on the BTS team, you will drive the strategy and delivery of foundational platform substrates that power our operational systems — you won't just hand off requirements, you'll own the outcome. You'll start by deeply understanding business-partner needs, conducting workflow analyses, and defining what we build, then transition into execution — working hand-in-hand with engineering leads to sequence work, mitigate technical risks, and manage the delivery pipeline. Because you'll work heavily with enterprise architecture and complex integrations, your systems-analysis skills will be critical to designing future-state workflows and ensuring platform components are robust and reusable.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of hybrid experience blending Product Management, Engineering Program Management, and Systems Analysis within complex enterprise environments.
  • 5+ years as an EPM partnering with engineering to drive the SDLC.
  • 5+ years in Systems Analysis — deep technical fluency to map complex data flows, evaluate API integrations, and translate technical constraints into feasible business solutions.
  • Product Ownership — proven ability to define product strategy, manage a backlog, and translate business goals into clear, actionable requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or PMP.
  • Hands-on use of GenAI tools to speed product, program, and systems-analysis work — from PRDs, user stories, and backlog items to first-draft data-flow maps and integration specs.
  • Experience working with globally distributed platforms and project teams.
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, repair, trade-in, or other operational domains.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the product vision, roadmap, and prioritized backlog for core platform components.
  • Conducting stakeholder interviews and workflow analyses, and measuring product impact post launch.
  • Partner with engineering to drive end-to-end delivery of complex cross-functional integrations — sequencing work, managing dependencies and risks, and facilitating agile ceremonies and UAT.
  • Analyze current-state architectures, map data flows and API integrations, and document requirements/specs so engineering has exact clarity ensuring solutions reuse core platform components rather than create technical debt.
  • Communicate progress, trade-offs, and launch plans to leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies, and deliver scalable platform solutions.
