Engineering Product Manager

Cisco•San Jose, CA
•$171,600 - $245,000

About The Position

The Cisco Cloud Control team is building a unified operating experience across Cisco's networking, security, compute, observability, and collaboration products. Our deployment portability work brings Cloud Control capabilities to customer-managed, hybrid, sovereign, and disconnected environments with different connectivity, operational control, and data governance requirements. We partner across product management, engineering, security, compliance, legal, operations, support, and integrated Cisco product teams to make each supported deployment model secure, resilient, serviceable, and practical to operate. The team is cross-functional, technically engaged, and focused on preserving a coherent product experience as infrastructure and operating boundaries change. This role will shape how Cloud Control serves customers that cannot rely on a standard public cloud deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of product management, technical product management, or platform product management experience in cloud, networking, distributed systems, or enterprise infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of experience working with customer-managed enterprise software, hybrid or private cloud, sovereign cloud, appliances, or distributed platforms.
  • Experience defining production requirements for installation, upgrades, version compatibility, backup and restore, high availability, disaster recovery, security, data residency, or operational support.
  • Experience leading at least one multi-team product or platform initiative from discovery and product definition through production delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Kubernetes-based platforms, virtual or physical appliances, private cloud, or disconnected deployments.
  • Knowledge of data, operational, and technological sovereignty requirements, including residency, local control, audit, and continuity considerations.
  • Experience defining lifecycle products for software installation, upgrade orchestration, rollback, backup and restore, high availability, disaster recovery, and secure decommissioning.
  • Experience defining identity, PKI, secrets, encryption, role-based access, audit, and secure support requirements for customer-controlled environments.
  • Ability to explain technical and regulatory tradeoffs to senior leaders and align teams with separate roadmaps, operating models, and ownership boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for Cisco Cloud Control on-premises deployments and sovereign cloud offerings, from deployment-model definition through lifecycle, launch, and measurable adoption.
  • Define supported deployment profiles and product boundaries for connected, intermittently connected, disconnected, and jurisdiction-specific environments, including what runs locally and what depends on Cisco cloud services.
  • Set product requirements for installation, upgrades, version compatibility, backup and restore, high availability, disaster recovery, observability, serviceability, capacity expansion, and secure decommissioning across the customer-managed lifecycle.
  • Translate sovereignty, data residency, identity, encryption, privileged access, audit, operational control, support, and regional continuity needs into clear product capabilities and release criteria.
  • Lead execution across engineering, security, compliance, legal, operations, support, and integrated product teams, setting measurable outcomes for deployment success, upgrade reliability, availability, recovery, supportability, and customer adoption.
