Own the commercial relationship with enclosure manufacturing partners and managing cost negotiations, continuity of supply, and risk management. Drive operational and cost efficiencies through process or design change, as well overall project execution. Use knowledge in supply chain development, sourcing management, mechanical engineering, and product development to manage the enclosure components (such as the housing, cover glass & buttons) that define the look, feel and expression of Apple’s globally recognized industrial and product design. Execute and scale both new and existing manufacturing processes, materials, technologies, finishes and form factors for iPhone. Leverage strategic internal relationships to effectively collaborate with engineering, operations and other Apple teams. Identify and scale new and existing manufacturing partners and execute strategic commercial deals to achieve goals around cost, supply, and quality, including scaling new vendors across multiple countries to ensure timely delivery of iPhone components for final assembly while maintaining competitive cost and high qualify. Work with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply quality, product design, and industrial design to operationalize, scale and manufacture new product designs and technologies in across multiple geographies. International travel required 25%. 40 hours/week.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 3 years of experience utilizing industrial engineering knowledge to lead purchasing and sourcing strategies across business units and to cross-functional teams to reduce costs, minimize risks, and optimize business processes.
  • 3 years of experience identifying issue scope and analyzing complex sourcing and purchasing initiatives and processes.
  • 3 years of experience utilizing knowledge of manufacturing processes and being involved in producing parts to implement policies and metrics to ensure the best combination of cost, quality, and delivery.
  • 3 years of experience utilizing knowledge of the sourcing process, including the process associated with industry, market, and category analysis to manage supplier capacity and ensure capability to meet supply demands.
  • 3 years of experience planning and establishing a sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.
  • 3 years of experience reviewing production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
  • 3 years of experience managing supplier capacity and capability to align with organizational supply demands and production goals.
  • 3 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to support sourcing strategies and drive continuous improvement in procurement operations.
