About The Position

This role supports prototype manufacturing planning and processes by scheduling and planning work for internal assembly and manufacturing processes, as well as external contractors. The individual will work closely with engineering customers and prototype engineering and technical staff to plan and schedule work that meets the requirements of our Combat Mission Systems customers. In addition to planning and scheduling, some procurement of materials and supplies will be required. The SIF Planning Specialist will assume responsibility for the assignment of tasks and the accurate billing and charging of outside contractor labor to customer contracts. Daily monitoring and reporting of program financials is required. Safety is the top priority in our prototype shop. The individual will serve as a contact and liaison to the site safety team. Tasks associated with fostering a safety culture include Gemba walks with the SIF Manager, monthly safety inspections of lab areas, and participation in the site Safety, Health, and Environmental committee. The working environment includes both office and shop settings. Shop activities may include periods of physical exertion, such as climbing in and out of vehicles, using tools, and lifting and carrying objects. Overtime or weekend work may be required to support accelerated program schedules.

Requirements

  • Proven teamwork and leadership skills, with the ability to work across multiple functions and program teams.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey information, propose ideas, and provide direction.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and program teams.
  • Proficiency in the Windows OS, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Visio.
  • Demonstrated experience in workspace planning for efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Oracle ERP, specifically in Bill of Materials (BOM) creation and the establishment of standard routings and operations.
  • Experience in inventory and material planning and management.
  • Experience in workflow and process development.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree preferred
  • Experience in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and monitor daily Prototype Network and engineering support from internal and external Prototype Network technicians and contractors.
  • Manage external Prototype Network contractor direct billable hours on purchase orders (POs).
  • Maintain the stock of soft-pegged consumable supplies and materials for the SIF.
  • Collaborate with Prototype Network staff to develop workflows and processes for efficient project execution.
  • Document workflows within the Prototype Network and manufacturing areas.
  • Perform cost accounting for SIF soft-pegged consumables and materials.
  • Manage small assembly projects within the SIF.
  • Track and maintain warehouse storage of legacy engineering assets.
  • Plan, track, and allocate space for program support, including occupancy billing to the appropriate cost centers.
  • Serve as the safety representative.
  • Assist Prototype Network staff with department process improvements.
