About The Position

We are seeking an Engineering Operations Supervisor to oversee day-to-day engineering activities at our Montreal office. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this individual will assist in coordinating the team’s priorities, resources, and operational activities. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Engineering, Sales, Operations, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Support teams to meet customer requirements, production priorities, and engineering deliverables.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of engineering experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience in supervision, technical leadership, or cross-functional coordination.
  • Proven experience in supervision, team leadership, or technical coordination in an engineering or technical environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Technical credibility with embedded engineering, firmware, software, electronics, and systems teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Practical knowledge of embedded systems, software development, electrical engineering environments, and technical documentation processes.
  • Required English proficiency: intermediate
  • Expected frequency of communication in English for the position: daily-written and verbal communication in English will be required on a regular basis-primarily for external communications with clients, suppliers, and/or partners outside of Quebec.
  • Reason for English requirement: The position involves ongoing collaboration with clients and suppliers in regions where English is the primary language. The individual will need to read and interpret documentation in English and communicate regularly with stakeholders based in the United States.

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the embedded, software, and hardware engineering staff.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, technical advice, and day-to-day support to engineering team members.
  • Identify risks, resource constraints, and project obstacles, then escalate issues as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of engineering projects, particularly in planning, problem-solving, progress tracking, prototype development, testing, validation, and production deployment.
  • Coordinate technical interventions for urgent customer support requests, maintenance activities, and production priorities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical processes, workflows, documentation, and communication.
  • Participate in onboarding new employees, training, professional development planning, performance management, and recruitment activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for quality, safety, and engineering.
  • Ensure effective communication with international engineering teams and management.
