In this exciting role, the Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of approximately 15 process technicians at 4 shifts supporting hybrid assembly and wafer-scale manufacturing operations. This role owns day-to-day execution, process stability, continuous improvement, and technician capability development to ensure safe, compliant, and high-yield 24/7 manufacturing operations at Medtronic Tempe Campus. This role reports to the process engineer senior manager in Manufacturing Engineering team. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing processes, including assembly (ICA, DCA, Sizing, clean), or wafer-scale/semiconductor-related processes.
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience
  • Knowledge with Medtronic Performance System
  • Strong problem solving skills and experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Red X or operational excellence frameworks.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with process validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ), calibration, NCR/CAPA

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage, coach, and develop a team of ~15 process technicians across 4 shifts.
  • Partner with process engineering, operation, maintenance, OPEX, AME and QA team to ensure stable execution of hybrid assembly and wafer-scale processes, meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Provide technical leadership and day-to-day support for process, production and equipment issues across different shifts.
  • Support Tier structure, Rapid Response Team, OEE, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze manufacturing metrics to proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure safety culture and follow EHS policies, procedures, and training requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation, including calibration, DHRs, travelers, deviations, and change records.
