About The Position

Anterior’s engineering team builds the platform health plans rely on for clinical decision-making at enterprise scale. The Engineering Manager leads a team of around 10 engineers in the New York office and is accountable for team hiring, development, collaboration, and delivery. This is a player-coach role, approximately 70% people leadership and 30% hands-on technical work, including participation in design decisions and technical contributions where they provide the most leverage. The manager supports engineers’ growth and performance, sets a high bar for quality, and plans reliable delivery for customers. The role partners with product, clinical, customer-facing, and enterprise customer technical teams to translate healthcare workflows into roadmaps and specifications, scope integrations, and support deployments. It also owns the reliability of the team’s systems, including on-call health, incident escalation, and postmortem follow-through. The manager helps shape engineering practices, standards, team structure, hiring plans, and the growth of the engineering organization. The position is based in Anterior’s New York office and remains closely involved with code and systems.
