About The Position

The Engineering Manager oversees and directs all activities related to product engineering and ensures that manufacturing processes will meet end customer requirements. Directs and coordinates development/qualification projects leading to new products and/or improved processes. Provides technical authority during engineering reviews and supports sustaining/manufacturing engineering. Manages engineering staff and resources to support operations. Directs staff and activities involved in developing/qualifying new products and/or optimal production processes (scope includes design, testing, machinery, tooling, equipment, and layout). Product development, including but not limited to, design, drawings/schematics, testing methods, work instructions, risk assessment, reliability, quality control. Write and review proposals, final reports, and technical papers. Responsible for daily MRB disposition and costing. Drive process control and variance reduction activities through Six Sigma. Drive cost reduction activities that will create favorable manufacturing variances. Develop, implement, and communicate a system to authorize, provide and control technical information and instructions. Provides direction to technical support as required for critical process and product issues. Determine capital equipment needs & development of the budget process for equipment, training, software, and equipment installation projects. Responsible for undertaking the necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from Quality non-compliance monitoring and audit programs. Provide ongoing developmental feedback to team members, as well as formal annual performance reviews. Communicate with customers and address technical issues. Foster a “Safety 24/7” culture; driving safety and environmental initiatives to ensure zero safety related incidents annually. Performs other related duties as directed by the Vice President/General Manager.

Requirements

  • S. Degree in Engineering (preferably in mechanical engineering).
  • 6+ years Manufacturing experience (aerospace, forging, machining backgrounds preferred).
  • Supervisory experience leading people.
