About The Position

The Engineering Manager leads the plant-level engineering and maintenance team, focusing on day-to-day operations, maintenance planning, and equipment reliability to support production efficiency and compliance. This role involves managing the implementation of preventative maintenance programs, assisting with capital projects, and ensuring that all plant equipment operates safely and reliably.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Required)
  • 1-3 years Supervisory experience in maintenance or engineering roles (Required)
  • 4-6 years in plant maintenance or engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or consumer products industries (Required)
  • Practical knowledge of maintenance and reliability practices, including preventative and predictive maintenance. (High proficiency)
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining plant equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and utility systems. (High proficiency)
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize resources for efficient maintenance operations. (High proficiency)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with production and other departments. (High proficiency)
  • Proven team leadership abilities, including coaching and development of technical staff. (High proficiency)
  • Understanding of safety and environmental regulations relevant to manufacturing. (High proficiency)
  • Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). (Medium proficiency)

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily activities of the plant’s engineering and maintenance team, ensuring effective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of all equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support production goals.
  • Assist in managing the department budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring proper allocation of resources such as tools, parts, and manpower to meet operational demands.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Director on plant-specific capital projects, coordinating on-site support, resources, and compliance with engineering standards.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor the maintenance team, ensuring skills development and effective performance management to meet plant objectives.
  • Ensure maintenance and engineering activities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements, promoting a culture of safety within the plant.
