Legend Brands is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineers, solve problems, and prevent unnecessary meetings. The ideal candidate can translate technical jargon into plain English and convert tough challenges into actionable plans. This role involves developing great people, driving results, and keeping projects moving forward. Legend Brands is a growing multi-vertical manufacturer serving restoration, cleaning, and construction professionals; performance automotive cooling markets; fish hatchery and aquaculture operations; through a portfolio of industry-leading brands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
  • Minimum eight years of applicable work experience required
  • Minimum four years leading technical staff
  • Experienced in leading, coaching, and developing a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Experienced in design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA) and transitioning durable consumer products into production
  • Skilled in plastic part design, injection molding, tooling, and material selection
  • Skilled in product verification, validation, reliability testing, and root-cause analysis
  • Skilled in 3D CAD, specifically SolidWorks
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and electromechanical product development
  • Strong Knowledge in refrigeration systems, thermal management, and airflow design
  • Knowledge of engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, BOMs, revisions, and engineering changes
  • Knowledge of product safety and regulatory requirements, including applicable UL, CSA, ETL, FCC, and other standards
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple engineering projects, priorities, schedules, risks, and deliverables while meeting established objectives

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for the design, development, testing, and launch of durable electromechanical consumer products
  • Provide technical leadership and direction across mechanical, refrigeration, electrical/electronic, and embedded-system engineering disciplines
  • Manage engineering priorities, workloads, schedules, and resources to support business and product-development objectives
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and develop engineering personnel while managing performance, goals, and career development
  • Establish engineering best practices, processes, and technical standards that improve consistency and effectiveness across the organization
  • Review and approve product designs, engineering calculations, specifications, test plans, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Provide technical oversight of refrigeration and thermal systems, including compressors, heat exchangers, airflow systems, refrigerant circuits, controls, and overall system performance
  • Guide the design of plastic components and assemblies, including injection-molded housings, structural features, fastening methods, material selection, and design for manufacturability
  • Apply knowledge of plastic tooling and molding processes to optimize part quality, durability, manufacturability, tooling complexity, and cost
  • Ensure products meet applicable UL, CSA, ETL, FCC, and other regulatory and product-safety requirements
  • Lead technical design reviews, DFMEAs, risk assessments, root-cause investigations, and corrective-action activities
  • Drive engineering projects from initial concept through design, validation, production launch, and ongoing lifecycle support
  • Manage engineering schedules, deliverables, technical risks, and resources to ensure projects meet timing, cost, quality, and performance objectives
  • Partner with Product Management, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain to successfully transition products from development into production
  • Manage engineering changes to ensure modifications are properly evaluated, validated, documented, and communicated before implementation
  • Support manufacturing and suppliers in resolving production issues, quality concerns, component substitutions, and technical problems
