About Hypha Hypha is an AI-native platform transforming asset management across the full lifecycle—acquisition, management, and exit. Focused on healthcare facilities and multifamily real estate, we're revolutionizing the industry through three key pillars: Observability: Providing real-time visibility into asset performance, deal progress, and market conditions for all stakeholders Intelligence: Enabling AI-driven multidimensional optimization with risk scores, tax strategies, and benchmarking Orchestration: Creating seamless workflows and a single source of truth to eliminate inefficiencies Role Overview As an Engineering Manager at Hypha, you’ll lead a team responsible for building and improving a core product area while helping shape the technical direction of the platform. You’ll work closely with product, design, and leadership to set priorities, plan roadmaps, and ensure the team is focused on delivering high-impact work. This is a hands-on role. You’ll guide sprint planning, unblock engineers, and maintain a high bar for engineering quality, while also contributing directly in the codebase. You’ll design systems, review architecture decisions, and work alongside your team to ship features that power Hypha’s core product. We’re looking for someone who has managed engineers before and understands that the role is about enabling the team to do their best work. That means setting clear direction, creating fast feedback loops, removing obstacles, and building an environment where engineers can move quickly while maintaining high standards. Core Competencies Proven engineering management — You've managed a team of engineers. You know how to run sprints, set expectations, give direct feedback, and help people grow. You've hired engineers and built teams. Hands-on technical ability — You can design systems, write production TypeScript, and make sound architectural decisions. Your team respects your technical judgment because you're in the code with them. Product orientation — You think about what your team builds in terms of user outcomes, not just task completion. You push for clarity on requirements and make trade-off decisions that balance speed, scope, and quality. Operational rigor — You keep the team moving. You're organized, you follow through, and you create structure without bureaucracy. Standups are useful, sprint planning is focused, and retros lead to real changes. AI-fluent — You use AI coding tools daily and know how to wield them effectively — as a multiplier on top of strong fundamentals. You help your team adopt effective AI workflows.
