Requirements

  • 7+ years of total software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Experience building and scaling engineering teams
  • A hands-on leader who can architect systems, write code, and conduct high-quality code reviews
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements
  • Comfortable collaborating across distributed teams and locations
  • Strong ability to allocate resources effectively and balance new feature development with ongoing maintenance and bug fixes
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally to successfully launch and iterate on products

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Vue 3, React, TypeScript, Go, and/or Terraform
  • Familiarity with AWS (deploying, operating, and monitoring services in production environments)
  • Experience working in IoT or distributed hardware environments, supporting diverse device inputs and real-world deployments across many physical locations

Responsibilities

  • Build a team from the ground up. Hire software engineers and lead, direct, coach, and review their work to accomplish near-term and long-term operational goals
  • Maintain strong cross-site relationships with business leaders, product managers, and other engineering teams for the lifecycle of products from inception to launch
  • Partner with product to define requirements, break them down into actionable work, and develop comprehensive plans outlining resources, milestones, and timelines
  • Provide accurate, continuously updated project estimates based on team capacity, skillsets, and evolving risks in a fast-changing environment
