Engineering Manager - Sigma
About The Position

As we grow the engineering team, we are looking for engineering leaders who want to build great products, devising product development, prioritization and execution strategy as well as developing a strong team providing career development, coaching, mentoring, performance evaluations, developing promotion cases, and other managerial responsibilities. About us: Sigma is the AI Apps and agentic analytics platform built on the cloud data warehouse. Business and technical teams use Sigma to explore live data, build intelligent applications, and automate critical workflows all without moving data or breaking governance. Sigma supports a spreadsheet interface, SQL, Python, and native AI in a single governed workspace, giving every team the speed to act and IT the control to scale. Sigma is trusted by more than 2,000 customers, including AMD, Duolingo, Colgate-Palmolive, and JPMorgan Chase. Sigma announced its $80M in Series E financing in May 2026. The round was led by Princeville Capital, with new strategic investors Databricks Ventures, ServiceNow Ventures, and Workday Ventures participating alongside returning investors Altimeter Capital, Avenir Growth Capital, D1 Capital Partners, K5 Global, NewView Capital, Spark Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, and XN. This milestone follows Sigma reaching $200M in annual recurring revenue in April 2026, with more than 100% year-over-year growth and 1.1 million new active users added in the latest fiscal year. About the role: We are looking for a self motivated, engineering leader eager to lead engineering teams with high performing engineers. You will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and support your teams to deliver incrementally against our roadmap.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical experience
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Have hired, and developed high performing engineering teams
- Have demonstrated strong technical architecture and engineering skills along with the ability to switch between technology paradigms
- Have strong computer science fundamentals

- Collaborate with cross-functional groups, executive team, field teams to devise business impact product strategy
- Enable the team to realize their potential and set them for achieving their career development goals
- Own execution and delivery of roadmaps, to help setup the business and your team for success
- Partner with the staffing team to recruit and build performing team
- Instill a strong sense of ownership and accountability within the team wherein members hold each other to a high bar
- Participate in discussions pertaining to the architecture and implementation techniques to represent, translate and optimize user directives into optimized queries
