At Uptime Crew, the work of an Engineering Manager (EM) focuses primarily on coaching and mentoring. The impact of our EMs is always future-facing. The work we do contributes to/is applied across all kinds of industry and company size. Our EMs have not only the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to our Consultants, but also manage multiple teams of Consultants in Training. As an EM, you manage project goals, contribute to each Project’s product strategy, and help develop the future consultants in your teams. Our EMs focus on enabling the success of our Consultants in Training. This involves creating an environment where individuals can do their best work, grow to new heights, and collaborate in a transparent and rewarding way that will enable their future work and contribute to our partners’ goals. Consultant teams work across multiple Capstone Projects from a variety of technical Programs that seek to elevate, solidify, and codify their knowledge of Full Stack Engineering, Data Engineering, Cloud DevOps, and CyberSecurity; the variety and scope is growing every day. Our exceptional Consultants in Training are just getting started on their journeys -- and as a Generalist, you guide the way. In this role, you will set the direction for any number of Capstone Projects staffed with our Consultants in Training. The teams build to an Enterprise Scale application as possible, taking into account their respective Program and/or Client goals and objectives. Your work will impact their Industry placement and marketability. You will not be contributing to the code bases, but if needed, you will be comfortable diving into the tech stack, the integration patterns, to provide technical feedback to your team members to help with their growth, and to increase their understanding of the tech stack and Program goals.
