As an Engineering Automation Maintenance Manager (Off Shift), you will be accountable for providing leadership and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the automation maintenance department, including functions associated with maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, operation, and repair of production equipment to ensure equipment OEE goals. Act as liaison with production and engineering departments in the prioritization of projects and repairs. Ensures documentation, procedures, and metrics are kept up to date and in compliance. This position will oversee both 2nd and 3rd shift personnel. Shift hours listed below. 2nd shift - Monday - Friday - 2:30pm - 11:00pm What you can expect in this role: Lead the 2nd and 3rd shift automation maintenance department. Establish work schedules, shift assignments and work prioritization. Ensure engineering maintenance department compliance with all company policies and procedures. Maintain collaborative and positive relationships with all other department. Proactively improve department processes and strive for enhanced levels of efficiency. Ensure service calls and machinery repairs are completed in a timely manner and maintenance support is available as needed. Provide mentoring and coaching on equipment troubleshooting and maintenance activities for all existing and new manufacturing equipment and systems. Establish procedures and best practices for the engineering team. Train team on these procedures and best practices, including follow-up verification. Oversee CMMS system to track equipment failures, problems, spare parts, maintenance logs to assist in increasing equipment uptime and reliability. Ensure documentation of maintenance work and activities performed, including work orders, engineering change requests, drawings, sketches, CAD files, procedures, project logs, etc. Develop and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs). Participate in value engineering projects to increase production efficiency and capacity, reduce cost, improve quality, and improve equipment reliability and uptime. Develop and execute plan for achieving and maintaining Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of 85% or higher on all manufacturing and process equipment. Guide, consult and perform on-going problem solving, root cause analysis, and process refinements in collaboration with internal personnel and suppliers. Ensure that equipment is maintained in compliance with company, USDA, and ISO requirements. Lead department 5S program and promote a safe work environment. Spearhead and support value engineering projects to increase production efficiency and capacity, reduce cost, improve quality, and improve equipment reliability and uptime. Evaluate, recommend, and implement process, machine, and design improvements to production equipment and procedures. Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work. Perform other duties as required by manager.
