The City of Vacaville is seeking an experienced and collaborative Engineering Manager to lead the Capital Improvement Program Design Division. This is an opportunity to guide the planning, design, environmental clearance, funding, and delivery of complex and highly visible public infrastructure projects serving a growing community. The Engineering Manager will lead a talented team of engineers and technical professionals, manage consultant teams, coordinate with Caltrans and regional and regulatory agencies, and help shape the City’s future capital program. The division’s work encompasses transportation, water, sewer, storm drainage, detention, utility, and other subsurface infrastructure projects. Current and upcoming work includes the I-505/Vaca Valley Parkway Multimodal Improvement Project, featuring three new roundabouts and a separated bicycle and pedestrian bridge across I-505; improvements to the Rancho Lagunitas Basin; future expansion of the City’s bicycle and pedestrian trail network, including planned improvements along Ulatis Creek; and roadway, drainage, utility, and active transportation infrastructure supporting continued residential and economic development. The City recently completed Jepson Parkway Phase II, an award-recognized multimodal transportation project funded with more than $23 million in state and federal grants. The successful candidate will build upon this record of project delivery while advancing the City’s next generation of infrastructure investments.
