About The Position

The Engineering Manager will lead a new AI product team and own delivery, hiring, and people management. The role begins with a small, senior team, with an initial focus on hiring engineers to grow it. The manager will partner with Product as an equal, translate strategy into an executable plan, and measure the quality and performance of products in production. They are expected to stay close to the technology, reviewing design documents and pull requests and assessing when AI features are ready for customers.

Requirements

Typically 8 or more years of software engineering experience, including 3 or more years managing engineers.
Experience shipping AI-, ML-, or LLM-powered products to production.
Hands-on depth in TypeScript, Python, and AI-assisted tools sufficient to make sound technical decisions.
A track record of hiring well and growing teams.
A data-driven approach to managing a team and assessing whether shipped products are working.
Comfort leading across more than one reporting line.
Strong written communication with executives.

Experience running a platform team whose customers are other engineering teams.

Hire, grow, and retain software, ML, and AI engineers, providing clear feedback and fair performance and career conversations.
Own planning, priorities, execution, and production quality, using metrics to assess team and product performance.
Partner with Product and domain experts to shape the roadmap and lead across teams.
Set how the team uses AI-assisted and agentic engineering tools, and model their use.
