About The Position

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of site asset maintenance strategy, asset health and reliability, capital budget preparation and execution, process modifications and upgrades, infrastructure upgrades, automation network maintenance and reliability, and site utility operations. This role involves managing all aspects of site Engineering with specific focus on Capital Assets, Process Safety, Utility Systems, Automation, and Strategic Reliability Based Maintenance. The position requires preparing and implementing an asset capital plan for replacement, cost reduction, expansion, and process/safety upgrades. It also involves identifying, justifying, and implementing capital projects in Operations and SHE areas, ensuring timely, within-budget, technically accurate, and compliant completion. A key aspect is ensuring projects utilize a “Design for Reliability” philosophy, focusing on safety, maintainability, operability, and quality, and fostering this philosophy across the site. The role also includes maintaining critical utilities (steam, compressed air, chill water, cooling tower water, effluent systems) at 100% operational status, ensuring adequate and reliable infrastructure, and managing the Asset Reliability of all rotating equipment in manufacturing areas. This involves developing maintenance strategies for critical assets, including RCM analysis, FMEA analysis, and PM/PdM requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably chemical or mechanical
  • Greater than ten (10) years of experience in a chemical and/or Food plant environment with large rotating equipment
  • Specific experience in unit operations including reaction, distillation, extrusion, separation, and drying in a GMP environment.
  • Knowledge of plant utility systems including power, steam, compressed air, cooling, effluent and environmental.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of Predictive Maintenance Tools to provide current and real time asset health indication, experienced with application of these tools in a business critical environment
  • Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance processes and the application of these techniques to develop a Strategic Maintenance plan for critical assets
  • Ability to provide technical assistance for equipment operating problems with strong exposure to plant maintenance and plant operations.
  • Ability to provide direction for effective personnel utilization in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) protocols and their application in a chemical manufacturing environment specifically as they relate to mechanical integrity
  • Experienced in Project Engineering management processes and CAPEX budget controls.

  • Ensure Asset Reliability of all rotating equipment for Process and Utilities in the manufacturing areas. Develop maintenance strategy for critical assets including RCM analysis, FMEA analysis and PM/PdM requirements.
