Engineering Manager
About The Position
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for the core platform and services powering our ecosystem. This is a 12 month extending contract with 3 days onsite and 2 days work from home. This team's work is central to delivering secure, reliable, scalable, and intuitive financial experiences used by millions of customers worldwide. As the manager of the team, you will drive technical strategy, mentor and grow engineers, and partner closely with Product, Security, Architecture, Operations, and cross-functional platform teams. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives at the intersection of large-scale distributed systems, financial technologies, security, and people leadership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+years in an engineering management role.
- Proven experience building and scaling highly available distributed systems, payment platforms, financial technology solutions, or transactional services.
- Track record of defining technical roadmaps and successfully delivering complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience leading teams responsible for secure, customer-facing services operating at large scale.
- Strong people leadership skills with demonstrated success mentoring, developing, and growing engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team.
- Define and execute the technical roadmap, balancing platform reliability, security, scalability, and performance with long-term architectural investments.
- Partner with multiple teams to deliver innovative payment experiences aligned with business priorities and customer needs.
- Collaborate with Security, Privacy, Fraud, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure secure and trustworthy payment solutions.
- Drive architecture decisions across payment processing, transaction orchestration, provisioning, authentication, tokenization, and related platform services.
- Mentor and coach engineers, fostering technical excellence, career growth, and leadership development.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Reliability, and Platform Engineering teams to improve system resilience, availability, and operational efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to enable seamless integrations across the company.
