About The Position

We are partnering with a leading food manufacturer operating Canada's only infant formula production facility. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager who thrives in highly regulated manufacturing environments and enjoys leading multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance teams. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll oversee engineering, maintenance, utilities, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives across a modern manufacturing facility producing products that Canadian families depend on every day. Requirements

  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience within manufacturing
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering or maintenance teams
  • Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance, utilities, and manufacturing systems
  • Experience managing engineering budgets and capital projects
  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement and TPM
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Dairy or beverage processing experience
  • GMP and HACCP knowledge
  • Wastewater treatment (WWTP) experience
  • Automation and industrial controls experience
  • SAP or CMMS experience
  • P.Eng. designation
  • TSSA knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering, maintenance, and utilities across a 24/7 manufacturing operation
  • Develop, mentor, and coach a multidisciplinary engineering team
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and engineering priorities
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Health & Safety to achieve plant objectives
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and equipment reliability programs
  • Support production through technical troubleshooting and equipment optimization
  • Manage mechanical, electrical, utility, and facility systems
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards and operational best practices
  • Improve equipment performance, uptime, and maintenance effectiveness
  • Lead CAPEX planning and execution
  • Support plant modernization and automation initiatives
  • Drive TPM and continuous improvement programs
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and operating costs
  • Support energy management and sustainability initiatives
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with GMP, HACCP, CFIA, FDA, and food safety standards
  • Support regulatory inspections and compliance activities
  • Champion a safety-first culture across engineering operations
  • Ensure all engineering decisions prioritize product quality, employee safety, and environmental responsibility
