The Manager of Engineering leads the Engineering team at Air Techniques and is responsible for maintaining, improving, and supporting existing products throughout their lifecycle. The role ensures product reliability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across Air Techniques and Dürr Dental. The position provides technical and disciplinary leadership to the team and contributes to operational excellence and long-term product sustainability.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering or technical teams.
  • Experience in sustaining engineering, product lifecycle management, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (medical or dental devices preferred).
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and change management processes.
  • Knowledge of FDA, CE, and applicable medical device regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international and cross-functional environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Interest in future technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in mechanical engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the Engineering function to support existing products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Manage New Product Introduction Processes for OEM products
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure timely evaluation and implementation of engineering changes (ECR/ECO).
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues and quality concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to the Sustaining Engineering team. 
  • Support employee development, mentoring, and performance management. 
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and solution-oriented team culture. 
  • Support hiring and onboarding activities as needed.
