This Engineering Manager is responsible for Business Continuity & Obsolescence Mitigation, ensuring sustained manufacturing continuity at the MTC campus through disciplined execution of component obsolescence mitigation and critical equipment deployment. This role provides clear ownership, structure, and accountability for high risk continuity initiatives and balances hands on technical contribution with management of a team of six engineers. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Own and execute MTC business continuity initiatives related to component obsolescence, single point of failure mitigation, and critical equipment deployment, ensuring predictable delivery and risk reduction. Provide hands on technical leadership as an individual contributor on complex, high risk projects, including technical decision making, issue resolution, and escalation management. Lead, coach, and manage a team of six engineers, setting clear priorities, assigning ownership, and ensuring disciplined execution against commitments. Apply process engineering and product engineering expertise to assess risk, define mitigation strategies, and ensure solutions are robust, manufacturable, and sustainable across the product lifecycle. Establish and maintain standard work, project governance, and escalation mechanisms to improve visibility, accountability, and execution consistency across continuity efforts. Partner across Operations, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to align continuity actions with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost priorities. Scope & Impact Direct ownership of business critical continuity and obsolescence mitigation efforts impacting manufacturing uptime, product supply, and delivery performance at MTC. Management responsibility for a multi disciplinary engineering team accountable for execution of critical, time sensitive projects with material operational risk. Key contributor to reducing reactive disruptions through proactive planning, structured execution, and disciplined project management.

Requirements

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience with execute MTC business continuity initiatives related to component obsolescence, single‑point‑of‑failure mitigation, and critical equipment deployment.
  • Process engineering and product engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in process engineering and product engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of managing critical, high‑risk projects involving equipment, components, and/or product lifecycle challenges.
  • Prior people‑leadership experience with the ability to balance hands‑on technical contribution and team management.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
