The Engineering Manager will lead initiatives to improve product yield, reduce variation, and achieve cost reduction goals in the manufacture of ceramic cores/parts. This role involves directing activities related to product tool/part designs and standards, spending significant time on the manufacturing floor, and managing the facility’s engineering budgets. The manager will oversee engineers focused on the plant's generic processes and direct the New Product Introduction (NPI) initiative to ensure product development aligns with project timelines, budgets, and quoted standards. Additionally, the role is responsible for developing and managing the plant's scrap reduction plan, optimizing part velocity through operations by eliminating constraints and waste, and overseeing engineers who establish and maintain robust metallurgical processes. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with the Process Engineering Manager to meet financial and scrap reduction metrics, report initiative status to management, and lead cost improvement, product improvement, and problem-solving activities. This position requires establishing professional working relationships with other Engineering Managers and teams, coordinating with HRC and Corporate Engineering, and working directly with engine manufacturer’s engineering teams to optimize core design and producibility. The manager will also be responsible for developing the future strategic engineering organizational structure and fostering an environment of engagement and development for the Engineering Staff, including managing training strategies.
